A computer programmer and hacker for the CIA who desperately wants "something real" in life. She wants a purpose in life, a connection to other people, but despite all the raves she goes to and the people she knows, it doesn't make her feel... real. There's a lingering sensation she's missing something in life. Raised in the foster care system, she has no family to speak of, and lives now in a fairly good apartment, but even though she's come so far and knows it, something isn't there. She's at her closest to happy when she's popped a certain pill combo at parties, but when it wears off her motivation is gone. She can lose herself in work, but after that just feels mentally exhausted, as if there's nothing left on Earth to do. The world can feel like this dance that she doesn't know the steps to, this elegantly bound book she can't read, but Rainbow hopes one day someone will break through to her or life will change, and she'll break away from this.
